Paul Hayden from the Wine and Cheese Place on Forsyth decided that while regular old beer tastings are nice, what if you could not only try beer from a variety of breweries, but also learn something about a style at the same time? With this in mind, he’s decided to hold a Blind Tasting of Russian Imperial Stouts on Thursday, March 26 starting at 6PM.
What is a Blind Tasting? Well, you’re given a select number of beers to try without knowing the brewery. This allows you to focus on the beer being presented to you and not which brewery it came from. It helps to provide a more equitable judging format.
Paul is providing 6-8 different beers to try (3oz pours) for $10 per person and while he WILL confirm that De Struise’s Black Albert will be there, he’s keeping the rest of the beer selections a secret.
If you’re interested in attending the event, you better sign up soon. This is a limited engagement with only 20 seats available.
You can make reservations by calling 314-727-8788. A credit card is required at the time of the call to hold the seat, but it will not be charged until the day of the tasting. You can cancel up to 7 days in advance.
