hop-poster11x17lr-500Ground control to beer drinkers. OK, maybe it doesn’t have the same ring as David Bowie’s classic Space Oddity, but this year’s trippy poster certainly has a Bowie-esque vibe that requires some homage to the song.

Anyway, September 14th will celebrate the 15th annual Hop in the City festival at the Schlafly Tap Room. If this is your first Hop, you’ll be treated to over 40 different Schlafly styles ranging from the light to the monstrous.

This is one of my favorite local festivals and one of the best parts is that it’s still inexpensive. You’re only paying a very reasonable $30 per ticket. Tickets are available at the Bottleworks, Tap Room and also online.

The other neat part of this festival is that Schlafly brews up a special beer to celebrate this fun time. This year’s festival beer is a Cream IPA (a new style even for me) which features lactose put into the boil and then dry-hopped with Citra and Mosaic hops.

I guess you need some more details? This year’s festival will be taking place on Saturday, September 14th from 12-5PM. It will be held at the Schlafly Tap Room and will be another great time. Tickets will be available at the door if they don’t sell out. But don’t delay, buy your tickets ASAP and enjoy one of the best festivals in St. Louis.
