Tag: total tap takeover

PrintBigger isn’t necessarily better. More and more I appreciate a well-crafted tap selection of 8-10 taps than a 70 tap selection. There is something to be said for someone curating a beer list.

33 Wine Shop was ahead of the trend. Their six taps are always interesting and provide plenty of different options.  The same could be said for the 2nd Shift Brewing portfolio.  Sure, 2nd Shift if known for their hops, but they brew some amazing Belgian-style ales, stouts, and now even an amazing Czech-style pilsner.

What happens when a six-tap system meets a brewery with a delicious portfolio?  Magic.  And also a total tap takeover. Starting at 3:30PM on Saturday, June 27th, 33 will be putting on six different 2nd Shift beers on tap.  And what a line-up it is:

  • Katy
  • Grace (Batch 2)
  • Chateau la Douchebag
  • Brewcocky
  • Technical Ecstasy
  • Hibiscus Wit

And if that’s not enough, there will also be a pin of Rye-Barrel LSD.  Head out to 33 on Saturday and enjoy the fruits of a well-curated tap system meeting some delicious beers.

As the lead up to Schlafly‘s 20th Anniversary continues we’re seeing all kinds of places around town get into the birthday fun.

In this case, it’s taking a cask of Schlafly beer and serving it at Bigelo’s Bistro in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Next Monday, December 19th, starting a 6PM, Dan Kopman from Schlafly will be on hand to help tap a cask of the very special Old Ale.  But that’s not all, but beginning on the 19th and continuing up until the new year Bigelo’s will be doing a total tap takeover featuring 12 different Schlafly beers on their taps at $3 a pint. Here’s a list of just some of the beers we’ll be seeing:

  • Pale
  • Hefeweizen
  • APA
  • Oatmeal Stout
  • Biere de Garde
  • Coffee Stout
  • Christmas Ale
  • Rye IPA
  • ESB
  • Bourbon Imperial Stout
  • Oak aged Barleywine
  • Porter
  • Schwarzbier
  • Kolsch

Nothing quite like being able to celebrate Schlafly’s anniversary right in your own backyard. While you’re at Bigelo’s, make sure to ask for the very awesome STL Hops pizza.

Let me just tell you, these pictures don’t really do any justice to the Stone Brewing Co. total tap takeover that occurred last Thursday at the International Tap House in Soulard.  It was crazy.

I don’t think I’ve seen a turnout for a craft beer event like this one.  I have no doubt that over 400 people came in and out of the doors last Thursday.  It’s a testament that the craft beer scene in St. Louis is growing larger and larger every day.

While there were a few issues, I think everyone had a great time and it was a lot of fun trying some really great beer.

Today’s the day so many people have been waiting for, Stone Brewing Company will be kicking off their arrival in Missouri by throwing a few parties around the area. In case you missed it, here’s what is in store for today:

As we all know by now, Stone Brewing is coming to Missouri.  Stone never comes to a town without throwing a party; that’s just how they roll.  But, they don’t throw just a single party, they throw three days worth of parties (or “par-tays” if you’re Sinbad) in St. Louis.

Stone gets so excited about their parties, that they even devote an entire spot on their website to it.   At this point, you’re probably shouting at the screen, “Enough with the blabbidly-blab!  Give me the details!”

You’re excited, I get it.  Make sure you  So, here’s a run-down of the week’s events:
