ciceros.jpg Cicero’s Italian Restaurant kicks off their 9th year of Beer School semester this Wednesday from 5:30-6:30PM and a second class from 7PM-8PM. Cicero’s Beer School provides background about beers and beer styles usually directly from people directly in the beer industry. It’s perfect opportunity to learn more about a style you’re unfamiliar with or to just brush up on a style you haven’t enjoyed in a while.

This week’s school is being hosted by Kelly Lohrmeyer from Tallgrass Brewing Company. Kelly will be on hand to discuss and sample Ethos IPA, Vanilla Buffalo Sweat, 8-Bit Pale Ale and Velvet Rooster. Go out and take advantage of one of the few places where you can drink and learn!

If you can’t make it out to the Beer School, you can check out all of the classes via podcast at

russells logoI love a hidden gem. I love being able to find a little spot off the beaten path and find something awesome.  Let me let you in on a little secret that I’m sure the people of Southampton will not want me to share.  Russell’s on Macklind is pretty damn good.

While they’re known for their breakfast and lunch menu, many people don’t know that they have table-service dining in the evening. They also have some delicious beers for you to enjoy. To show off both of these things, Russell’s has partnered with Tallgrass Brewing to put on their first beer dinner.

This dinner will be taking place on Monday, January 27th and will feature four Tallgrass beers paired with four different courses.  The dinner begins at 6:30PM and will cost you $35 per person. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Reservations can be made by calling 314-553-9994.  Here’s a look at the menu:

1st Course
Toasted Brioche, Velvet Rooster Belgian Ale White Cheddar Fondue, Thick Bacon, Butter Lettuce, Poached Farm Egg

2nd Course
Clam Chowder – Clams Steamed in Cream & Ethos Pale Ale, Roasted Gold Potatoes, & Leeks

3rd Course
