Odell_Brewing_Company_logoWe all have our own beer-related pet peeves.  For those that know me closely, they know that my A #1 pet peeve is how people continually screw up Odell Brewing Company. O’dell, O’Dells, etc. The owner’s name is Doug Odell.  No apostrophe.

Whew, I feel better.

Anyway, I don’t think people realize how lucky we are to have Odell Brewing. Personally, they’re one of my favorite breweries and they’re currently only available in 11 states.

Odell has a whole crew of people in town and they’ve put together a bunch of events all next week to get the word out about Odell.  Here’s a look at the line-up:

Today, from 4PM to 6:30PM the Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton will hold its weekly Friday beer tasting in which they’ll be sampling: Stone Brewing Double Bastard Ale 2009 Vintage Ale, Stone Brewing 15th Anniversary, Stone Brewing Imperial Russian Stout 2008, Stone Brewing Imperial Russian Stout 2012, Stone Ruination, Stone Cali-Belgique, and Stone IPA. In celebration of St. Louis Craft Beer Week, Randall’s on Jefferson will be sampling craft beer all week long! Here’s the line up:

  • Fri 8/3 – Belgian beers (Duvel, Blanche de Bruxelles, Rochefort, Orval, Westmalle) (4PM-7PM)
  • Fri 8/3 – Dundee (5PM-7PM)
  • Sat 8/4 – Stone (12PM-2PM)

This Saturday, Wolfbrau in St. Peters continues its “Wolfbrau’s Taste of Beer.” On select Saturdays, Wolfbrau will be featuring a single style or brewery to feature. This Saturday, from 4PM to 6PM, they’ll be featuring Deschutes The Stoic, Odell Pond Hopper, and others from Wolfbrau’s Secret Stash(tm). Also on Wednesday, the Naked Vine holds a beer tasting from 5-7PM. This tasting will give you a chance to try some of Naked Vine’s offerings and is absolutely free. Check out their Twitter feed for more updates.

Cory from deVine Wines and Spirts, located at 2961 Dougherty Ferry Rd, holds a beer tasting every Wednesday evening from 5PM to 8PM. Each Wednesday will offer up a few new beers for you to taste. Swing on by and check it out.

Cathedral Square’s Jerad Gardner will be at the Randalls Fairview Heights from 4-6pm and at Grappa Growlers tomorrow in Belleville from 3-5pm. He be sampling a variety of Cathedral Square’s products. Go on out and say “Hi” to Jared.
