beer 2912Beer and pizza are good.  But if you can eat some beer and pizza and raise some money for the relief efforts in Haiti, well that’s even better.  Tomorrow, two places in St. Louis that are known for great pizza and great beer will be donating proceeds from their sales to help out Haiti.

On Tuesday evening, January 19th, starting at 4PM The Good Pie will be donating all of the proceeds from food and beverage sales to MercyCorps.org.

On Tuesday as well, all three Pi Pizzeria locations will be donating 20% of their gross sales to MercyCorps.org.

This is a great opportunity to help out just by dining out.

piStarting tonight at 5PM, the newest Pi Restaurant will  now be open in the Central West End. A new location means a new beer list, so let’s see what’s in store for the pizza and beer lover:

Draught:

  • Schlafly Pale Ale
  • Schlafly Hefeweizen
  • Schlafly Seasonal (ESB)
  • Schlafly 3.14 Ale (Kolsch)
  • Old Rasputin Russian Imperial
  • Bell’s Two-Hearted Ale

Bottle:

  • New Belgium Lips of Faith Dark Kriek
  • Jolly Pumpkin Calabaza Blanca
  • Southern Tier Oatmeal Stout
  • New Holland Imperial Hatter
  • Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye

Gluten Free:

  • Bard’s

The draught list is a bit small to start, but I’ve been told that it will increase over the next few months as they add extra draught boxes in the new location. So we’ll all have to stay tuned.

piSo, I guess the word is now out, the newest Pi Restaurant is now open in Kirkwood. What does this mean for you the beer lover?  Well, the newest location allowed Pi to expand their beer selection to offer 15 different draught beers.

As someone who lives only 5 minutes away from the new Pi, I have to say it’s nice knowing that I not only have some great pizza nearby, but also some great beer.  Here’s a list of what they have to currently offer:

logo1Way back in January, I showed you a photo of just some of the casks that Schlafly purchased to expand their cask beer program. Well, when you have this many casks at your disposal, it means you get to put on events showcasing your beer.

In this case, it’s taking a cask of Schlafly beer and serving it alongside the best place to get Neapolitan Pizza in the St. Louis area, The Good Pie.

This Friday, September 4th, starting a 6PM, for the first time ever outside of a Schlafly establishment a representative from the St. Louis Brewery will be tapping a cask of Bière De Garde and will be serving it until the cask runs out or The Good Pie closes.

Sure, you can get cask beer at the Tap Room, but you can’t get Neapolitan Pizza to go along with it! Head on out there for some great pizza and beer.

piIf you love New Belgium Brewery and Bingo and Pizza and Drag Queens, well, have I got the event for you!  This Sunday (March 15th), and every Sunday thereafter, Pi Restaurant will be hosting Drag Queen Bingo starting at 9PM.

Since New Belgium is sponsoring the event, you’ll receive all New Belgium draught beers for $3 each!  If the idea of playing Bingo on a Sunday night with your isn’t enough incentive to get your non-craft beer drinking buddies to go, they’ll also be offering $1 PBR Draft and $4 PBR Pitchers.

This sounds like a hell of a time, I’m hoping to drag my lazy ass out on a Sunday night to participate.

While the turn out for the Schlafly Tripel Release Party at Pi Restaurant wasn’t as big as I was hoping for, my disappointment was quickly quashed thanks to the delicious pizza at Pi and the Schlafly Tripel.  Here are some photos for those of you that didn’t make it out:

I’ll make no bones about it, I love Pi Restaurant. Great pizza, great vibe, and a rotating selection of draught beer.  So when owner Chris Sommers told me last Friday, “We’re having a launch party for the new Schlafly Tripel.”  I cut him off mid-sentence and told him I’d be there.  More importantly, you’re invited too, so make sure and come out on January, 20th at 6PM see what the fuss is about.
