If you’ve been paying attention to the Wine and Cheese Place Blog or to the Beer Advocate forums this information may be old news for you, St. Louis is about to get three new breweries in 2009 thanks to Missouri Beverage and Summit Distributing.  Next year we’ll see the introduction of Magic Hat out of South Burlington, Vermont, Tommyknocker from Idaho Springs, Colorado and New Holland Brewing Company located in Holland, Michigan.

I’ve listed some of the beers from each brewery below, hopefully we’ll know soon enough what beers we’ll be getting from each brewery:

barneyflatsstout1.jpgThis seems like the week to revisit news from May, because if you remember way back then I reported that Anderson Valley Brewing would be available in July. Well, it’s now November so we only missed the target date by 4 months!

Over at the Wine and Cheese Place blog, Paul Hayden details which beers arrived in St. Louis. It looks like we’ve received a mix of six-packs and bombers of the following beers:

  • Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout (6pk and 22oz)
  • Boont Amber (6pk)
  • Boont ESB Extra Special Beer (6pk)
  • Hop Ottin IPA India Pale (6pk)
  • Poleeko Gold Pale (6pk)
  • Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale (6pk)

Be sure to check out the Wine and Cheese Place’s blog for more information on all of these beers.

buffalologo.gifDave Johnson emailed me late last week and filled me in on a few new beers we’ll be seeing at Buffalo Brewing Company in the next couple of months. The first new ones we should be seeing are Oktoberfest Lager and a Belgian Pale Ale which Dave describes as “very tasty.”

Also in the mix is a DunkelRye. Dave was planning on brewing a Dunkel and there was a suggestion made of adding some Rye. Dave thought that was an awesome idea and the DunkelRye was born. That was brewed just this past Sunday, so it’ll be a little while until we see it. But that sounds pretty exciting.

If you have any idea for beer styles that you would like to see at Buffalo, feel free to leave them in the comments.  One of the things Dave loves so much about Buffalo is that it affords him the chance to really have fun and brew different things that can break up the monotony of brewing the same thing day in and day out.

Hope you’re all planning on having an exciting or relaxing Memorial Day Weekend. I’ve got a brewing session planned and a lot of beer I’m planning on drinking. Please be safe this weekend. Here’s the (short) Round Up:
