For those of you that attended the September meet-up at the Stable, you may remember the Drew Huerter kept passing his phone around like he was a proud papa. For you see, before Drew had come to visit us, Mattingly Brewing Company had received their fermentation tanks. This was one of the biggest steps to brewing beer at Mattingly and now they’re just that much closer to having freshly brewed beer on premises.
According to Drew, they received their first grain order last week and he fully expect Mattingly beer too be on draught by the end of the year. I can raise a glass to that.

Well, you dirty bastards. Where were you? “Oh, we’ll show up!” Yeah… Well, you know what? Those of us that did show had an awesome time. The photos below are proof of that it’s not about quantity, it’s all about quality.
But seriously was it a bad date? Bad time? People were interested in doing these monthly meet-ups, but only about 10 people showed. My concern is that if we tell some of these venues that we’re attending and no one shows, it looks bad on us all as a whole.
Anyway, we had a great time, you should have attended. Thanks to everyone at The Stable for allowing us to invade your space for a while last night and to all of the readers who attended.
Edit: Please don’t take that first paragraph seriously.

This is just a reminder to all of you that the STL Hops Meet-Up will be occurring Tuesday, September 30th at The Stable. Here’s the original post on the Meet-Up:
Basically we’re all meeting up for food, beer and a chance to meet up with people who love beer as much as you.
You’re responsible for your own tab (food and beer) and I believe we can even do some beer tasting toward the end of the evening, we’ll need to have that cleared up by someone from The Stable (Jesse, Jerad?) The last time was a lot of fun and I think these events allow us to visit places in the area that really care about beer.
Also, a little added surprise. Laura Dale from Boulevard Brewery has donated a few bottles of the Brett-Saison and Bourbon Barrel Quad for our enjoyment. So this is your chance to try these two beers before they hit the shelves this week. As for doing some sampling, I’d ask that we do a fair share of eating and drinking before we start breaking anything out. I don’t think Jesse and Jerad will have an issue with this. But I’ll try and confirm for sure.
Hope to see you all at 6:30PM (or whenever you can show up) tomorrow.
Update: We’ve been given the go ahead to bring a few beers to taste after the dinner has finished. Two small requirements, we obviously need to keep this tasting on the down-low from normal patrons and also we need to make sure things don’t get out of hand (though I’m not concerned about this.)
Update 2: We’ll have the in the “outdoor” patio area all to ourselves. Make sure to stop by.

Well, the votes were cast and the winner of this month’s STL Hops meet-up location is The Stable. I talked to Jesse Jones of The Stable last night and he said, “bring them down!” So on Tuesday, September 30 at 6:30 PM, we’ll all be meeting down at The Stable for drinks and food. As I guess I’m the Prince of Parties on this one let me just kind of give everyone an idea of what to expect.
If you could do me one favor and answer this poll with your intention of coming or not, just to give The Stable a heads up:
Will you be attending this month's Meet-Up?
