Last week I was wearing a sweater and now I’m sweating? I guess we can say that spring is official here.

Urban Chestnut Brewing Company is helping to celebrate spring and has brought back their  Maifest festival. Taking place this Saturday, May 14th at their Midtown location, this will certainly be a party that would make Bacchus blush.

Along with BBQ from UCBC’s Andy Fair and special guests, you will also be able to enjoy some of the fresh bock beer UCBC brewed especially for this celebration of spring.

The best part about this festival?  It’s free.  There are no ticket charges, just come out between 12PM-10PM on Saturday, May 14th and purchase beer and food to sample throughout the day.  There will be commemorative t-shirts and glassware available for purchase as well.

There is also an $18 festival package available that includes a commemorative glass, a food ticket, and three beer tickets and three tickets good for either food or beer. Individual beer and food tickets may be purchased for $6 apiece.

Saturday, May 14th will be a great opportunity to rock out with your bock out at UCBC.

femme_ferment_logo_BWAnniversaries are worth celebrating, especially when that anniversary celebrates an organization that focuses on women in the craft beer industry. To celebrate their first year in St. Louis, Femme Ferment worked with Schlafly to create a collaborative beer.

To celebrate the season, Femme Ferment and Schlafly decided to brew up a Maibock as “a nod to St. Louis’s German heritage”. Called “Femme Bock the Elder”, this 6.0% lager was “dry-hopped” with elderflowers to impart a floral aroma reminiscent of spring time.

This beer will be tapped at 11AM tomorrow, May 8th at both the Tap Room and Bottleworks. Festivities to celebrate spring and Femme Ferment will begin at 5PM at the Tap Room which will include a Maypole and dancing (weather permitting).

Head out to the Tap Room (or Bottleworks) tomorrow to celebrate Femme Ferment and spring!

Remember those days in March where it seemed more like summer? I don’t know who the hell thought 86° in the middle of March was a good idea, but it was a load of malarkey.   Luckily, for all of us, spring has made its triumphant return and we’ve been enjoying a very lovely April.

And when you’re having a good spring, why not celebrate.  So,  Urban Chestnut Brewing Company has brought back their  Maifest festival. Taking place on Saturday, May 12th, this will certainly be a party that would make Bacchus blush.

I don’t know about you, but it’s nice to have spring back in St. Louis. I know this week’s weather doesn’t exactly feel like spring, but this weekend will be a lovely return to more moderate temperatures. This weekend also marks the first Maifest festival at Urban Chestnut Brewing Company.

Along with BBQ from Pappy’s Smokehouse, UCBC, and Dusty’s, this will also be your first chance to try out two new beers from UCBC: the Weizenbock and the Maibock.

As there was a discussion in the Forums about Maibocks, I thought some of you might like to know that The Stable will be hosting Boulevard Brewing’s Maibock kickoff party on Thursday, March 26th from 7PM-9PM.

Not only will you get a chance to taste this Spring seasonal but you’ll also get to meet Boulevard’s Field Quality Manager Neil Witte.  The Stable’s Jerad Gardner also let me know that he’ll be offering pints of the Maibock for $2.50 during the Meet and Greet.
