06/13/08 Friday Round-Up

Beer News 8 Comments

Happy Friday the Thirteen to you all, hope your spooky June day goes well.

There is one thing I want to talk about before I start today’s Round-Up, there’s been some rumblings as of recent that I’m in cahoots with certain retailers or breweries when it comes to posting information. Let me just say that’s patently false. I credit the person who provides me the information first. Some people are more active about providing information and I think it’s only fair to credit them.

This is a free site and I run it because I love beer. Anyway, on to the Round-Up

Mailbag: Where Can You Find Tennants?

Beer Love 4 Comments

Well, I can sort of answer this question:

I was wondering if you knew of anybody in the St. Louis area that carried Tennants? Lukas Liquors only has it in 1/2 barrel quantities and I haven’t found anybody else that has it. I figured that you are the man that would know where I can turn. Thanks for any info!

I know that the Scottish Arms carries this on draught but anyone else know where you can get it?

Boulevard Smokestack Now In St. Louis

Beer News 1 Comment

smokestack.jpgMC from Lukas Liquor emailed to inform me that Boulevard’s Smokestack series is now available at Lukas Liquor. I had a post earlier this month detailing the information for all 4 Smokestack beers. I’ve also heard a rumor (so take it for what it is, a rumor) that Boulevard may stop producing the Double-Wide IPA as the hop shortage is causing some pricing issues, so that may be a keeper if you buy it.

Late Breaking Info: Paul from Wine and Cheese Place informed me that the Rock Hill location has the beers in stock and Clayton will get them in tomorrow.

Left Hand Brewing Arrvies in St. Louis

Beer News 6 Comments

lefthand.jpgWay back on February 4th, I mentioned that Left Hand Brewing Company would be making it’s way to the St. Louis market. Well, that day has arrived. No longer will you have to drive over to the East Side to get your Left Hand fix (though you should still visit your favorite Illinois beer stores whenever you can) you can now find it at your favorite beer store in Missouri.

A few quick calls tells me that a few of the stores with Left Hand in their possession are: Whole Foods, Wine and Cheese Place (in Clayton and Rock Hill) and Lukas Liquor. Give your favorite beer store a call to find out the availability at their location.

Remember everyone, the more we buy these new beers in the market the more likely they are to keep adding new breweries. It helps everyone in the long run.

Avery Has Arrived

Beer News No Comments

averysmall.jpgYou may remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned that Avery was now distributing in Missouri, but we in St. Louis hadn’t received anything yet. Well I’m here to tell you that Avery has arrived in St. Louis. Paul from the Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton has informed me that he received his shipment of Avery products from his distributor today. Mike from Lukas Liquor also let me know he has Avery in stock as well.

So rush out and get a 6 pack of Ellie Burge recommended Ellie’s Brown Ale today.
