ciceros.jpg Cicero’s Italian Restaurant continues their Winter Beer School semester this Wednesday from 5:30-6:30PM and a second class from 7PM-8PM. Cicero’s Beer School provides background about beers and beer styles usually directly from people directly in the beer industry. It’s perfect opportunity to learn more about a style you’re unfamiliar with or to just brush up on a style you haven’t enjoyed in a while.

This week’s school is being hosted by Logan of Lagunitas Brewing Company. Logan will be on hand to discuss and sample some IPA, Hop Stoopid, Wilco Tango Foxtrot, and Lil’ Sumpin Sumpin. Go out and take advantage of one of the few places where you can drink and learn!

If you can’t make it out to the Beer School, you can check out all of the classes via podcast at Cicerosbeerschool.com.

I’m not really a glass snob.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I try to pour my beer into a proper glass when I can, but I don’t concern myself too greatly when I can’t.  But what I do love is cool glassware.  Sure, it may not be the best thing for the beer, but sometimes it’s just fun to drink out of a neat glass.

For those of you that enjoy adding additional glasses to your collection, make sure to head out to the International Tap House in Soulard tonight, Thursday, May 12th, for a Lagunitas Brewing Keep the Jar night.  Starting at 7PM, this is your chance to pick up this very nifty glass featuring the Lagunitas logo.

There will also be a couple of Lagunitas beers to fill that glass, including the WTF, IPA, and the Lil’ Sumpin’ Wild. It may not be a tulip, but it’s sure a lot more fun.

lagunitas_logoThe Lagunitas Brewing Company is now officially available in St. Louis.  It’s on the STL Hops Twitter, so it has to be true!

To celebrate the release of this Northern California classic, there are a couple of release parties in the area today and tomorrow:

  • iTAP will be hosting Ron Lindenbush from Lagunitas Brewery from 5:30-7PM tonight, December 15th.  They’ll have IPA and Cappuccino Stout on draught as well as IPA, Pale Ale, Maximus, Brown Sugga’, Hop Stupid and Cappuccino Stout in bottles.
  • The Stable will also be hosting an event beginning at 7PM.  Ron Lindenbush will be there for this event as well and you’ll have the option to buy the IPA and Cappuccino on draught.

lagunitas_logoIt’s been a long wait.  We’ve sat by and watched as other parts of Missouri have enjoyed beers from Lagunitas Brewing Company for the past few months.

Well, our wait is over. I just received word from John Griesedieck of Summit Distributing that we should begin seeing Lagunitas beers next week.

According to John, we’ll begin by seeing a limited amount of Brown Sugga’ on draught. We also should be seeing draught Lagunitas IPA on a regular basis. I should hopefully have a full lineup soon of exactly what will be available in St. Louis.

Nice to have another taste of the West Coast in the Midwest.
