Tag: cheap beer

taproomlogo_94x128.jpgI know how it is, the present are opened, the tinsel has lost its luster and you may be feeling the post X-Mas blues. Well, I know how to perk you up: cheap beer. Schlafly is celebrating it’s 18th Anniversary party on Saturday, December 26th by serving beer at 1991 prices all day long.

If that’s not enough to pique your interest how about a discounted SIP Club membership as well? The standard SIP Club price is $25 for an annual membership, but on Friday only, you can purchase a membership for $18. Here are just a few things a SIP Club membership gets you:

  • A custom SIP Club stein for home
  • A Schlafly discount card: present to server or bartender and receive a 20 oz. beer for the price of a 16 oz. (excluding beers over 8% alcohol)
  • 10% discount in our retail shops
  • Invitation to special in-house member-only tastings and events

That last one is well worth the price to me, because as long as Andy White is putting it on, there is no way you should miss the SIP Club Dinner.

beer-money.jpgIn writing some of the beer articles for the St. Louis Post Dispatch, one of the complaints that Adam Jadhav keeps hearing is, “but the prices of some of those beers are so high!” So Adam is on a quest to find not only a tasty beer, but one that won’t break the bank. Adam is looking to keep the price of a six pack to $6.

Now, you may be saying to yourself right now, “Mike, that’s a really difficult task. Malt, hop and transportation prices are through the roof which is driving up the price of a six-pack!” I know, because I made the same argument to Adam when he posed a $5 cap to me last night. But I don’t think an awesome six dollar six-pack is unattainable.

I think this is the perfect opportunity to hook people that may not normally buy a craft beer into paying a tiny bit more (a six-pack of Bud costs about 5.50 now) for a more flavorful product. So, any suggestions for Adam?
