stlcbwJust in case you’ve missed it, the inaugural St. Louis Craft Beer Week begins this Saturday. Over the rest of the week I’ll be detailing the events of the festival on STL Hops to bring more visibility to the event.

I can’t begin to stress enough how important it is for all of us to help make this event successful.

If you care about beer and beer awareness in St. Louis, it’s important to show the retailers, breweries and restaurants involved that there are people that care about beer.

So, I know a lot of events are during the middle of the week and people have jobs and lives that make it difficult to attend some of the events, you at least make an effort to try and attend at least one event during the middle of the week. I also realize that money is tight, but over half of the events are free, so it won’t hurt the pocketbook to attend some of the events.

If you love beer and I know you all do otherwise you wouldn’t be here, it’s time to show it. Anyway, here’s a rundown of the events taking place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday:
Saturday, May 30th

Meet a Griesedieck – The Royale – 4PM-6PM
Free Event (Food and drink available for purchase)
The Royale is having a meet&greet with members of the Griesedieck family, brewers of Griesedieck Brothers beer. This family has been as important as any in the history of St Louis brewing and we at the Royale think their story should be better known. A true regional treasure, GB today thrives as the big guys gobble each other up and the little guys make craft beer to change the world. Come spend happy hour with some real survivors, and enjoy free t-shirts and beer specials, too!

Boulevard Tank 7 Sampling – International Tap House – 7PM-9PM
Free Event (Food and drink available for purchase)
For those of you who didn’t have a chance to try Boulevard Brewery’s newest draught-only beer, Tank 7 at the St. Louis Microfest a few weeks ago, here’s another chance! Laura Dale will be handing out complimentary samples of the Tank 7 Saison. This wonderfully hoppy saison is sure to be a summertime hit, so be certain to stop by and try it!
