We’ve had plenty of white, how about a bit of red?  Schlafly’s next local collaboration will be with the International Tap House and they’ll be brewing up a very special (as yet unnamed) American Red.  This beer was designed by iTap’s Beertender Cory King along with Stephen Hale and Brennan Greene from Schlafly.  Here’s Cory’s description of the beer:

Its going to be an American Red brewed with Columbus and Simcoe hops. Probably around 6.5% and will available at the end of March. Look for a pretty big dry hop, they are talking about 1.5 lbs per barrel, Im hoping I can talk them into more!

This will be a full 15 barrel batch including what I hear to be at least 3 or 4 casks. This beer will be looking for a release at the end of March to hopefully coincide with the first game of a local sports team. (Red beer, red cheer.)

I was told that this should be available at both Schlafly locations along with both iTap locations. There may be some distribution around the area (ala Bigelo’s Bistro’s collaboration) but that’s still up in the air. Seems kind of fitting that a redhead came up with the idea of brewing a sticky red beer. I can’t wait.
