The process went better than I thought and I’ve finally finished the overall look for STL Hops. Well, what do you think?
Looks great man, keep up the good work!
I’d make the STL Hops emblem look like a bottlecap.
Looks good. Where did the bottle caps come from? I don’t remember seeing Russian River or Three Floyds available in St. Louis
It’s a lot of pink. 😀
Your STL Hops Twitter link is sort of hidden in there. You might scale down the size of the font in the side columns too to make it less cluttered.
I like the new header a lot though. Much improved.
Oh, one other thing. You might try to get the header to link back to the main page. People apparently like to just click that to get back to the homepage. I got a lot of complaints about that until I fixed it.
It always looks the same on my Google Reader.
Looks awesome, great job! There does seem to be a lot of caps of beer not purchased in St. Louis for a St. Louis blog. 😀
What is the chance you can add a “search” option to the forum section. Sometimes I am looking for a previous question/forum and tt is hard to go through them all and find it.
Search is already there Paul. It’s in the main menu near the top. Here’s a direct link:
Needs more St. Louis beer bottle caps on the header. Otherwise, good stuff Mike.
Not bad, pink was an interesting choice. Agree with Bill on the header linking to home.
While we’re changing things, can we get a link back to the home page in the forums too?
Bottlecaps – What other St. Louis craft beer bottlecaps can I have up there? There’s Schlafly and… Schlafly. O’Fallon uses gold caps. It was a picture I took myself with a ton of bottlecaps I’ve collected over the past year. I was pretty proud of it, but if you don’t think it should be used, then I’ll find something else.
Pink – I actually like to think of it as a peach, but pink is probably pretty close as well. It’s a shade of one of the two main colors of the site. I’d rather not have more than two overall colors, and didn’t want to add more green to the site. When you lighten up red you get this color to the right. It may stay, it may go.
Forum link – Clicking the main banner at the top should take you back to the STL Hops main page. I’m hoping to have links similar to the top of this page over the next few days.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

Wow, how did I miss that — I feel stupid.
Now the site is perfect.
its very pretty and mos def caught me off guard
Love the bottlecaps. I suppose a Schlafly one could be a little more conspicuous, but the other ones are cooler anyway.
Looks good and the bottle caps are PERFECT! This is a general beer blog, Mikes location does not obligate him to anything or anyone.
Great updates, and I like the beer list with the date each list was added. Thanks for the effort and the passion. Great bottle caps, I would leave thm rgh where they are.
I think the bottle cap picture is top notch. I remember it from one of your posts before on twist offs.
Looks great, Mike!
Nice job on the redesign. I’m all for leaving the bottle caps pic on the top as well. The forums link on the right is nice.
Looks good, Mike.
Looks GREAT! keep the good work, Mike.
Any thoughts on moving the tag that shows the number of comments on a given post to the top of that post instead of at the bottom. You have room on the right side of the post header. For particularly longer posts, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see if anybody has posted instead of when I just open up the page having it smack me in the face. Yeah I’m kinda lazy. Thats how it was set up before.
