Left Hand Brewing Arrvies in St. Louis

Way back on February 4th, I mentioned that Left Hand Brewing Company would be making it’s way to the St. Louis market. Well, that day has arrived. No longer will you have to drive over to the East Side to get your Left Hand fix (though you should still visit your favorite Illinois beer stores whenever you can) you can now find it at your favorite beer store in Missouri.
A few quick calls tells me that a few of the stores with Left Hand in their possession are: Whole Foods, Wine and Cheese Place (in Clayton and Rock Hill) and Lukas Liquor. Give your favorite beer store a call to find out the availability at their location.
Remember everyone, the more we buy these new beers in the market the more likely they are to keep adding new breweries. It helps everyone in the long run.

You’ll love their beers. I enjoy the Milk Stout and Sawtooth Ale especially.

What we need is the kickin’ Illinois liquor laws so that we can get a mixed six of good beer to try instead of just selected ones.
There so many beers I was finally able to try once I started rolling to IL that I never would have because I didn’t want to get stuck with five swilly beers yet again. It just makes me think of those five expedition stouts that ended up in shepherd’s pie.

The thought of using the Expedition Stouts in a shepherd’s pie makes me cringe, I love that beer.

I agree with John, in my opinion, Expedition Stout is a great beer. But, that’s the great thing about soooo many beers, you’re bound to like a few and not like a few.
Bill, Missouri law does allow mix-a-six. In fact, co-owner of O’Fallon Brewery, Tony Caradonna, introduced this entire concept to the St. Louis market in the mid-90’s with Dierbergs when him and Fran had their specialty beer distributor, Signature Beers. However, market trends combined with increased consumer awareness pretty much eliminated the need for mix-a-six sections in local supermarkets. But, you can still find mix-a-six sections at Lukas, Wine & Cheese Place, Randall’s and Provisions, to name a few.
The only stipulation in Missouri liquor law regarding this is that you must purchase at least three 12-ounce beers at any one time.

The two Left Hands I know: Warrior IPA and the Imperial Stout are good. But I don’t see either on the list for what is available.
