Hey everybody,

For all you patrons of The Stable, what is the atmosphere like? Specifically, what is the smoking situation? I know it's a bar, but are there non-smoking sections; if so, is it actually separated from the smoking section or is it one of those "This side of the half wall is smoking, and that side of the half wall is non-smoking. Nevermind that the smoke permeates both sides."?

This question pertains to Saturday nights, in particular.

Thanks

I've been twice so far, both Saturday night and its pretty busy. They have a live band that can get pretty loud in the main room so if you want to talk to someone...forget it. The other side is where most of the smokers go, they have a pool table, smaller bar, and some couches. With the big windows and ventilation it's usually not too smoky on that side and I don't remember lingering smoke getting into the main room, if it did, it wasn't bad at all.

So you kinda have to find a balance like me, I'm not a smoker but I like to drink and have conversation with friends so I usually end up sitting in the "smoker" side, but to tell you the truth...it's not too bad. The prices on the other hand.

pretty sure the whole thing is smoking, but both times I was there, you could hardly tell. And one of those times was 10pm on a Saturday night. The place has 30' or so ceilings. Even higher above the bar area. I guess if you're eating, though, and the table next to you lights up, that could be annoying. Otherwise, there's no cloud of smoke hanging in the air.

If you do go on fri or sat the main room is very loud due to the live music in the main room. So don't plan on having a conversation.

We stopped by there Saturday night about 11:30. We were told that the bar area was smoking and the dining next to it was non (with no separation between the two). Then a group sat down next to us and one guy started smoking a pipe. Nothing was said to him, but we didn't complain, either.

Something was said about a courtyard area, but I don't remember if was mentioned because it was quieter or if it was non-smoking. Thinking it was outside, we didn't go out there, but looking at the building as we drove out, it may have been inside.

The band was pretty loud for the size of the room. The prices were stiff, too. I think I ended up paying $16 (including tip) for one beer each for my wife and I.

I'd stop by again, but I don't think it's a place I'd want to spend a lot of time.

The 'courtyard' is covered, and kind of indoors. There's HUGE grated open windows. I'd have to imagine the windows are covered up now. It's a smoking area, too. It was definitely quieter.

I was there last Saturday night. Neither my wife or I smoke and sat at the bar area. It wasn't horrible by any means but you will still go home smelling like cigarettes.
