I tried this place for the first time last week. I tried all of their beers. Liked the light beer they had and bought a growler of it to take home. The growler idea is fun. We normally go to growlers down the street, but I wanted some good food. We found it there. Tried Schlafly in Maplewood the beer is good no smoking is their down fall. I don't know about everyone else in St. Louis, but I expect A&B to play a smaller roll here now that it has been bought out.

Like you thought there was a problem with sanitation but there is a new brewery manager and the beer tastes better than ever. There is a new beer coming out in August it is a Belgian Wit. From what R tells me it will have a wonderful Citrus Flavor. Come in and check it out. Ask for me and I would love to serve you.

Stopped by on Saturday. Pretty good beer (liked the IPA the best) and really good food for a chain. Also talked to the manager, and he said they have plans for three more locations locally.

No they don't. It's just a manager trained on the equipment. In fact, when I was talking to one of the managers after the meal, he mentioned that at one of their other locations they had what sounded like a lactobacillus infection because they weren't sanitizing well enough.

Glad to see you stop by. Make sure to join the forums. Enjoy the site.

Cool to see an actual beer junkie review about this place. The "fermentus interruptus" part troubles me. Do they have an actual brewmaster on site? If not I forsee infected beer once the flunkies get lazy with the sanitation.

Last paragraph, about St. Louis being an A-B town - to a certain extent, yes, but there also appears to be a growing number of beer snobs, otherwise the "usual suspects" (like Schlafly) wouldn't be doing as well as they are. Or, to use the same logic, Denver and Colorado should be a Coors town, not the home of multiple microbreweries, the Great American Beerfest and a major A-B plant (in Ft. Collins, along with O'Dell's and New Belguim). Give people a choice, and you might be surprised. Right now, I'm rooting for Ray Hill!
