The Civil Life Brewing Company has made a name for itself by not only providing one of the best tasting room experiences in St. Louis, but by crafting some of the best session ales in the world. Well, big changes are coming to Civil Life and owner Jake Hafner was nice enough to give us the inside scoop.
The two biggest changes coming in the brewery. Civil Life has added two 60bbl fermenters to their brewery which will help to expand their yearly brewing capacity. What will they do with all of that expansion? Well, they’re putting in a canning line that should be operational this August. That’s right, you’ll soon be able to find 16oz (proper pints, please!) Civil Life beers in your favorite retail markets.
If that’s not big enough, Civil Life has also expanded its sales territory and has partnered with Koerner Distributor in Southern Illinois. So you east side folks that have been looking to get Civil should be able to see it in your watering holes soon.
But the news keeps getting bigger, in this case bigger as in ABV. To celebrate all of this big news Civil Life is crafting three special higher ABV offerings that will range from 6.5%-7%. The first offering, which is a bigger version of their world-class American Brown, will be available this evening at their tasting room and they’re calling it Big Year Brown.
One final bit of news is that Civil Life is partnering with STL Hops for our second collaboration beer (more news on the first coming soon) called Gordian Knot Bock which will be part of this new 6.5-7% line-up. Big news for everyone and big hugs to Civil Life for being so awesome.
