Bear Republic Arriving Today
August 21, 2008 3:40 pm Beer NewsWell, it’s been a long time since the original post detailing Bear Republic’s arrival to the St. Louis area, but the day has finally arrived. Starting tonight, you should hopefully be able to find Bear Republic in some of your favorite beer stores around the St. Louis area. Bill from Missouri Beverage has confirmed that Bear Republic should be arriving today at 2PM and hopefully be on some of the store shelves later this evening. There is a possibility we don’t start seeing it until Saturday or even not until Monday. But what’s a few more days at this point?
Here’s a list of beers scheduled to arrive today:
- Bear Republic Red Rocket
- Bear Republic Racer 5
- Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye
- Bear Republic Pete Brown
- Bear Republic Special XPB
- ear Republic Big Black Bear

I used to work in travel media and attended annually a big schmooze fest for California travel media in Pasadena. The Bear Republic guy was there every year pouring beer. Great guy. Great beer.

I was thinking about stopping by the wine and cheese place after work today . . . anybody know if they’ll have BR in?

If the beer delivery doesn’t arrive at the wholesaler’s warehouse until 2 PM today–as reported–it usually makes it very difficult to get the beer out into the trade the very same day. Especially, considering that both of the Bill’s from MoBev are on vacation and today is a Friday. It usually takes a little bit of time for the distributor to receive the product and get it entered into their system/ inventory it, etc. If they reported it is not due to their warehouse until 2 PM today, I would think Monday would be the earliest we’ll see it at the retail accounts.

Mattb, you should still go to TWCP since he’s hosting an Oktoberfest tasting today. If you get some BR, all the better!

Paul has a post on the Bear Republic on TW&CP blog. He said he’d update that post when the beer is actually in the store, so I’d check there. Or, God-forbid, pick up the phone and give him a call before you make the trek.

I’m really digging the advertised prices on these. $3.99 for 22oz bombers. I’m liking that.

I agree that it’s a fine price on the bombers, and that the BR beers are really nice, but that still works out to a $13 six pack.

Not meaning to rain on the BR parade but…… did anyone else get oxidized beers? Both the Hop Rod and Tribute I got were not in the best shape. Hop Rod was oxidized and nowhere near the quality of previous bottles I’ve had and the Tribute ~ well that was never my fave to begin with, but I thought a fresh bottle would be better.
