Talked about this one way back in December, but it’s now official the next state to make an appearance at the Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival will be Alaska.  Looks like we’ll be getting two amazing breweries visiting us from the Great White North:  Alaskan Brewing Company from Juneau and Midnight Sun Brewing Company from Anchorage.

Sounds like each brewery will be bringing 8 styles of beer to sample at the festival. Excuse me for one second. (OMG! 8 styles! Woohoo! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!) OK, I’m back. Tickets for Repeal, which will take place on Saturday, April 16th from 12-5PM, have gone on sale starting today.  You can purchase them either at the Tap Room, Bottleworks or even online.

Oh yeah, there is one other really cool event happening in conjunction with all of this as well.  As kind of a pre-festival festivity, Schlafly has teamed up with Alaskan to do a very special vertical tasting.  Schlafly will be providing a sample of 2007, 2008, and 2009 Reserve Series Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout and Alaskan will be offering up a sample of 2007, 2008, and 2009 Alaskan Smoked Porter.  Hot diggity damn.

This special event will be taking place on Thursday, April 14th at 7PM at the Tap Room.  Tickets, which have not gone on sale yet, will be required for this event.  Check the STL Hops or Schlafly Twitter account to see when they’re available.  Until then, I know I’ll be dreaming about the Alaskan beers that will soon be in St. Louis.
