While there are certainly a lot of beers in St. Louis that have gotten hype over the last few years, I don’t think there is any argument that the biggest name in beer at the moment is Abraxas. When Perennial Artisan Ales released this beer in 2011 I’m sure they knew they had something good, but I doubt they knew they had a monster on their hands.
What started as a bottle release at the brewery has evolved into a full-on beer event. To celebrate the release of Abraxas, Perennial is throwing “Abraxas Day” on November 9th, 2013. Part of this event is that they’ll not only release 2013 Abraxas, but they’ll also be selling VIP tickets that gets you the following items:
- Official Abraxas Snifter
- 4oz Pours of the following beers:
- 2012 Abraxas
- Cigar City Apple Brandy Barrel Hunahpu
- Voodoo Big Black Voodoo Daddy
- Crooked Stave Vielle Dry-Hopped with Galaxy
- Half Acre Big Hugs
- Revolution Deth’s Tar
- Sun King Lonesome Dove
- Central Waters Exodus
- You also get first crack to purchase a bottle of Coffee Abraxas (With no line to wait in!)
“Whoa, Coffee Abraxas? What is this magic elixir you speak of?” This is a brand-new beer combining the awesomeness of Abraxas with the deliciousness of Sump coffee. And your VIP ticket gets you the ability to purchase a bottle.
So, how do you get tickets? Well, Perennial will begin selling tickets to the two VIP sessions (1-3pM and 4-6PM) today at the Perennial Tasting Room beginning at 4PM. VIP tickets will cost $40. If there are any unsold tickets by Friday, October 25th then Perennial will sell any remaining on Brown Paper Tickets.
If you miss out on VIP tickets, do not fret, there will be a limited number of bottles of Coffee Abraxas available during this awesome party. For more details on this event, be sure to check out the STL Hops Forums.
