Black and BLues Poster-page-001If running a business and keeping it thriving wasn’t difficult enough, finding your own unique spin for an anniversary party is its own monster. Everyone wants to hoe our own road and not step on the toes of their fellow brewers. So I applaud Old Bakery Beer Company for not only celebrating their first year in business, but also coming up with a cool idea to boot.

This Sunday, March 13th, OBB is putting on a Black & Blues Beer Festival. Starting at 1PM, you’ll be able to enjoy black beer samples from over twenty local breweries along with some delicious BBQ and a DJ playing “old-school blues and soul”.

A ticket is $30 (or $35 day of) and will get you a commemorative glass and tastings from the following breweries:

  • 2nd Shift
  • 4 Hands
  • 4204 Main Street
  • Alpha
  • Augusta
  • Charleville
  • Civil Life
  • Earthbound
  • Excel
  • Exit 6
  • Griesedieck
  • Kirkwood Station
  • Main and Mill
  • Peel
  • Perennial
  • Public House
  • Recess
  • Schlafly
  • Six Mile Bridge
  • Square One
  • St. Nicholas
  • Stubborn German
  • Templar
  • Urban Chestnut

This will also be your first opportunity to try Old Bakery’s new creation, their Double Stout along with their 1st Anniversary Barleywine. They describe it as “an American-style Barleywine partially aged in bourbon barrels, and partially aged on cinnamon, cocoa nibs, and oak.”

The event runs from 1PM-5PM and your tickets can be purchased here. Don’t miss out from some great beer from one of my favorite new breweries!
