sideprojectcellarIt’s been lovely having Shelton Brothers back in Missouri.  Not only have we seen limited releases from breweries like Jester King and Anchorage Brewing, but also just announced this week is that Pretty Things has begun to hit shelves in Missouri this week.

Suffice it to say, Shelton Brothers has some of the best and most unique beers coming into our market. To celebrate these nifty beers, Shelton is working with Side Project Cellar next Wednesday, April 8th to create an event they’re called A Sour Affair.

Side Project scored some amazing beers and plan on doing three different tapping times to enjoyed these fruited sours delights:

  • 5pm: Cantillon Kriek
  • 6pm: Mikkeller SpontanBlackthorn
  • 7pm: Dieu du Ciel! Solstice d’Été

The smart person arrives well before 5pm to grab a seat and enjoy these beers, and Side Project has you covered as they’ll be pouring 3 Fonteinen, To Øl Sur Amarillo, and Nøgne Ø Kriek of Telemark right as they open at 3PM.

You know that Side Project will be adding a few other sour goodies to the list that evening, so be prepared!

cSyx1s3uBeer is water. In fact, it takes a lot of water to make beer. We’re really lucky in St. Louis to not only have some fantastic tasting water, but plenty of it as well.

Breweries understand all too well how important it is to keep our local water clean. Without water, they can’t create all of that delicious beer we all love to drink. That’s why the Missouri Coalition for the Environment is teaming up with Perennial Artisan Ales, Urban Chestnut (midtown), Earthbound Beer, Square One Brewery & Distillery, Schlafly Bottleworks and Tap Room for the 2nd Beer4Water Day in St. Louis.

How can you help?  It’s as simple as drinking a beer. Visit any of the participating breweries on April 4, 2015 between 12-6pm and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Missouri Coalition for the Environment’s work on protecting and restoring our rivers, lakes, streams, and wetlands.

And for those of you that get to the breweries via pedal power, the MCE will have a special prize of beer and beer swag for one lucky person who bikes to the breweries. Each stop gets a bicyclist a ticket for a chance to win the prize.

Help to keep our water clean and our beer plentiful by visiting these breweries this weekend.
