STLHops_ShadedWe’ve teased it a bit on social media, but it’s finally time to spill the details. I’m happy to announce that the STL Hops 7th Anniversary Party will be taking place on Saturday, November 22nd at Urban Chestnut in the Grove.

We’ll be doing two different price points again this year. We still have the standard ticket which will get you into the party from 6-10PM and will set you back $30. This will get you unlimited samples as well as a commemorative glass. (The glass is pretty cool this year, it looks like this.)

We’re also doing the VIP ticket again which will cost you $10 more but will get you in an hour early. I’m also going to throw a special raffle for you VIP members for something cool, you’ll get raffle tickets as you arrive. (You can purchase more as well.) There is a limited number of VIP tickets available, so don’t wait for these.

Tickets can be purchased HERE.

This event WILL SELL OUT!  Do not delay in getting tickets.

Again the lion-share of proceeds will benefit Stray Rescue but this year I’m also going to be donating a small portion to the St. Louis Bulldog Rescue. I lost my bulldog last month and I’d like to do this small gift to honor her. Last year we raised over $8500 and I know we can top that this year!

We once again have Jim Leabig spinning record for those of you that like to boogie. And we’ll have a couple of food trucks available. I can confirm Completely Sauced at this moment. Still lining up one more. There will, of course, be the awesome food at UCBC that will be available for purchase as well.

One cool treat that I’ve already confirmed is thanks to our friends at Goose Island, you’ll be enjoying some Bourbon County Stout on draft. I know we’ve gotten some commitments from other breweries and I’ll be making my annual pilgrimage to Chicago so you know we’re going to have some fun treats.

Thank you all for supporting STL Hops over the past 7 years and also donating all of this money to Stray Rescue!

Schlafly has partnered with Four Seasons St. Louis to put on a beer dinner next Thursday, November 13th beginning at 6:30PM. This meal will be five courses and will run you $75 per person (tax and gratuity not included.) Reservations can be made by calling 314-881-2105.

ciceros.thumbnailThese first few weeks of November are the last chance to really sink your teeth into some beer events until the craziness of the holidays tries to catch you. Cicero’s knows this and has scheduled some really cool events over the next week to keep your November busy. Here’s the line up:

Saturday, November 1st
Celebrate your inner bastard by heading out to Cicero’s to celebrate National Bastard Day. Stone Brewing Co. is putting on some special beers including Double Bastard, Lucky Bastard and Arrogant Bastard Ale. Taps start at 11AM.

Monday, November 3rd
Carson’s Brewery out of Evansville, IN takes over the taps at Cicero’s featuring, RIPA, Pagan, Red Dawn and some other fine selections. The folks from Carson’s will also be in town for a meet and greet as well. Tap takeover starts at 7PM

Tuesday, November 4th
Were you a good American? Did you do your civic duty by voting today? Celebrate voting day with a special tapping of the New Belgium/Perennial collaboration of the Salted Belgian Chocolate Stout. This tasty treat is tapped at 7PM.

eclipse-restaurant‘Tis the season for delicious beer, it’s also the season for delicious themes. In this case, Eclipse Restaurant in the Loop has put together quite a spook tap takeover for your Halloween fun.

Eclipse has lined up six beers to make your Halloween a bit more ghoulish:

  • Firestone Walker Agrestic Ale
  • Founder’s Dark Penance Double Black IPA
  • Game of Thrones Fire & Blood Red Ale
  • Game of Thrones Valar Morghulis Dubbel
  • 4 Hands 2013 Eclipse Imperial Raspberry Milk Stout
  • 4 Hands Super Flare Brett IPA brewed with Mango & Guava and Galaxy & Mosaic Hops

The party begins at 7PM on 10/31 with a DJ, punch, and some spooky cookies the pastry chef has whipped up. Sounds like a devil of a good time.

CraftBeerCellarLogoWe’ll see a lot of trick or treating this Friday, but it’ll all treats at Craft Beer Cellar in Clayton as they’re hosting a very special food and beer pairing on Halloween. Just like when you were a wee tot visiting your neighborhood looking for candy, this beer pairing will also involve neighbors.

In this case CBC has paired with The Libertine to create a special menu of small bites to pair with some beers from Bell’s Brewery. The Libertine’s Josh Galliano has taken some of Bell’s limited and year-round beers and worked with the Certified Cicerones at CBC to create a neat menu showcasing beer and food pairings!

This event begins at 7PM and will run to 10PM. Both the food and beer are free for sampling. And it being Halloween, costumes are encouraged, but not required.

Great food and great beer are great treats and that’s no trick.

Perennial_Abraxas_V04It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, I’m not talking about the upcoming holidays (though Thanksgiving is a close second) I’m talking about Perennial Artisan Ales Abraxas Day.

The time of the year where we all get to enjoy some of that highly sought after spicy chocolaty velvety stout produced right here in St. Louis.  To celebrate this delicious beer Perennial will be putting on an entire day devoted to Abraxas on Saturday, November 8th.

Beginning at 12PM, you’ll have your opportunity to buy bottles of Abraxas and also a limited amount of Coffee Abraxas as well.  Fear not, there will also be draft of both beers (while supplies last.) To combat some of the issues that Perennial has had in the past, there will not be ANY overnight camping allowed. But you will be welcome to show up bright and early and bottle sharing will be allowed until the doors open at 12PM.

For those of you looking to avoid the lines, Perennial will be selling a limited amount of VIP tickets beginning on Wednesday, October 29th at 4PM at the Perennial tasting room. Any tickets left unsold after Wednesday will be available on Brown Paper Tickets. These VIP tickets will be $45 (limit one ticket per person) and will include:

  • The option to purchase two bottles of Abraxas & one bottle of Coffee Abraxas
  • A 15oz Spieglau Abraxas snifter
  • Entry to one VIP session (1:00-3:00 or 4:00-6:00) on Saturday, November 8th, which includes 5oz Pours of the following beers:
    • 2013 Abraxas
    • 2014 Coffee Abraxas
    • Side Project – One Candle
    • Oakshire – 7th Anniversary Ale
    • Rare Barrel – Map of the Sun
    • The Commons Brewery – Putin from the Wood
    • Surly – Pentagram
    • Three Floyds’ – Big Tiddy Assassin

If you have any questions please feel free to email emily@perennialbeer.com for any inquiries you may have. If you haven’t attended in the past, then you should definitely show up as it’s a great day with great people and great beer.

itap-LOGOThings are going to get strange at the International Tap House in Soulard as Strange Donuts and iTAP prepare for an invasion. This invasion involves stouts, donuts, and two different birthdays.

Next Saturday, October 18th, starting at 11AM, iTAP Soulard and Strange Donuts are holding an event they’re calling a Strange Invasion. To celebrate stout season (and Perennial’s 3rd anniversary) iTAP is putting on two of the best stouts around, Founders Breakfast Stout and Perennial 2013 Abraxas.

To celebrate their birthday, Strange Donuts is pairing a donut with each of these beers. For $10 you’ll get a 12oz pour of Founders Breakfast Stout, a branded Breakfast Stout Ceramic Mug or a “Stout Season” Pint Glass, and a Strange Donut.

If you’re looking for some more spice, for $8 you can get a 12oz pour of Abraxas paired with the Mexican Hot Chocolate donut. What a strange way to spend a Saturday (unless you’re like me and drinking beer and eating donuts is how your Saturdays usually go down.)
