STLHops_ShadedWe’ve teased it a bit on social media, but it’s finally time to spill the details. I’m happy to announce that the STL Hops 7th Anniversary Party will be taking place on Saturday, November 22nd at Urban Chestnut in the Grove.

We’ll be doing two different price points again this year. We still have the standard ticket which will get you into the party from 6-10PM and will set you back $30. This will get you unlimited samples as well as a commemorative glass. (The glass is pretty cool this year, it looks like this.)

We’re also doing the VIP ticket again which will cost you $10 more but will get you in an hour early. I’m also going to throw a special raffle for you VIP members for something cool, you’ll get raffle tickets as you arrive. (You can purchase more as well.) There is a limited number of VIP tickets available, so don’t wait for these.

Tickets can be purchased HERE.

This event WILL SELL OUT!  Do not delay in getting tickets.

Again the lion-share of proceeds will benefit Stray Rescue but this year I’m also going to be donating a small portion to the St. Louis Bulldog Rescue. I lost my bulldog last month and I’d like to do this small gift to honor her. Last year we raised over $8500 and I know we can top that this year!

We once again have Jim Leabig spinning record for those of you that like to boogie. And we’ll have a couple of food trucks available. I can confirm Completely Sauced at this moment. Still lining up one more. There will, of course, be the awesome food at UCBC that will be available for purchase as well.

One cool treat that I’ve already confirmed is thanks to our friends at Goose Island, you’ll be enjoying some Bourbon County Stout on draft. I know we’ve gotten some commitments from other breweries and I’ll be making my annual pilgrimage to Chicago so you know we’re going to have some fun treats.

Thank you all for supporting STL Hops over the past 7 years and also donating all of this money to Stray Rescue!

STLBG-HARVEST.RFT-WEB.1-690x1024Hey, look at that, I’m on time for once and actually remembered to pick a winner when I said I would.  Well, that’s enough patting my own back, let’s announce some winners.

I’m happy to announce that the two winners of two passes to the St. Louis Brewers Guild Harvest Festival are Rongg Zengg and Jason Schmidt! Congrats to Rongg and Jason, hope they have a great time at the festival.

For those of you that missed out on winning, tickets are still available HERE! Thanks again to the St. Louis Brewers Guild for providing tickets for this event, I think it’s a great way to showcase the amazing talents of our local brewing community.

STLBG-HARVEST.RFT-WEB.1-690x1024There is a chill in the air and an extra spring in some of our steps. It’s fall and it’s a great time for a beer festival in St. Louis. To celebrate this great time of year, the St. Louis Brewers Guild is throwing a festival showcasing beers made with freshly harvested hops, pumpkins, and other festive fall items.

The St. Louis Brewers Guild Harvest Festival is taking place from 1PM-5PM this Saturday, November 1st featuring 23 local breweries. The STLBG has been kind enough to give us four tickets to give away for this fun fall event.

To win a pair of tickets to this event, email with Harvest Festival as the subject and include your favorite local brewery in the body of the email. As this event is taking place on Saturday, I’ll pick two winners tomorrow, Friday, October 13th at 9AM. A couple of quick notes:

  • If you’ve won something from STL Hops in the past 6 months, please be cool and let someone else enter.
  • You must be 21 or older to enter.
  • No multiple entries.
  • I will have to give you your tickets in person, so you’ll need to be flexible.

Thanks again to the folks at the STLBG for giving us these tickets. If you’re not feeling lucky, tickets are still available HERE.

Schlafly has partnered with Four Seasons St. Louis to put on a beer dinner next Thursday, November 13th beginning at 6:30PM. This meal will be five courses and will run you $75 per person (tax and gratuity not included.) Reservations can be made by calling 314-881-2105.

ciceros.thumbnailThese first few weeks of November are the last chance to really sink your teeth into some beer events until the craziness of the holidays tries to catch you. Cicero’s knows this and has scheduled some really cool events over the next week to keep your November busy. Here’s the line up:

Saturday, November 1st
Celebrate your inner bastard by heading out to Cicero’s to celebrate National Bastard Day. Stone Brewing Co. is putting on some special beers including Double Bastard, Lucky Bastard and Arrogant Bastard Ale. Taps start at 11AM.

Monday, November 3rd
Carson’s Brewery out of Evansville, IN takes over the taps at Cicero’s featuring, RIPA, Pagan, Red Dawn and some other fine selections. The folks from Carson’s will also be in town for a meet and greet as well. Tap takeover starts at 7PM

Tuesday, November 4th
Were you a good American? Did you do your civic duty by voting today? Celebrate voting day with a special tapping of the New Belgium/Perennial collaboration of the Salted Belgian Chocolate Stout. This tasty treat is tapped at 7PM.

llywelyns-243x300While it’s fun to be on the hunt to try and find that special or fun beer, it can be pretty tiring. Well, you can stop running all around town and visit Llywelyn’s Pub in Webster Groves, Central West End, and St. Charles to see something cool on tap. Llywelyn’s is continuing their program that they’ve been calling “A Brew You Never Knew.”

Each Wednesday, Llywelyn’s will feature a single beer on draught that may have been overlooked or in some cases is the only draught version of that beer in town. It’ll be a chance to re-visit an old favorite or even discover something you’ve never had before.

This week Llyweyln’s in Webster will feature Deschutes Zarabanda on tap. While the St. Charles location will be serving up the Charleville Witches Brew’mmm on draft. And Central West End will be featuring Great Divide Claymore. So, if you’re looking for something special without all of the lists and missed opportunities, make sure to stop into Llywelyn’s in St. Charles, Central West End, or Webster tonight!

eclipse-restaurant‘Tis the season for delicious beer, it’s also the season for delicious themes. In this case, Eclipse Restaurant in the Loop has put together quite a spook tap takeover for your Halloween fun.

Eclipse has lined up six beers to make your Halloween a bit more ghoulish:

  • Firestone Walker Agrestic Ale
  • Founder’s Dark Penance Double Black IPA
  • Game of Thrones Fire & Blood Red Ale
  • Game of Thrones Valar Morghulis Dubbel
  • 4 Hands 2013 Eclipse Imperial Raspberry Milk Stout
