Did everyone get a good night’s sleep? I know I did. We’ve reached the end of our 6th annual St. Louis Craft Beer Week.
I’m going to try and get some of the photos off of my camera, but in the meantime this is going to read like an award acceptance speech.
There are a bunch of close people I want to thank. First off, thanks to Eric Hildebrandt and Carl Niermann. These two guys have been my closest friends, sounding boards, and two of the people that keep me from going entirely crazy. They also put a lot of work into making sure people know about what’s happening during the week. We couldn’t do it without them.
Everyone may not know this, but the talented artists at Boulevard have helped create the posters for STLCBW over the past 6 years. We couldn’t promote these events nearly as well without their generous support. Boulevard also teamed up with Schlafly to put out some special logoed STLCBW glassware for the events. These are not only great keepsakes, but also another avenue to get the word out.
One of the biggest reasons this year was so successful was the amount of media coverage we received. First a big thank you to Fox 2 KTVI for giving us a segment every weekday during STLCBW. It can not be overstated how much this helped in making this week a success. So thank you to the entire team at Fox 2 for helping us out.
I also have to mention the amazing looking website and coverage that KSDK Channel 5 gave to us during STLCBW. Thank you for your help, we really appreciate it.
We also received coverage from stltoday.com, the Riverfront Times, Sauce Magazine, Feast Magazine, St Louis Magazine, KTRS 550, FM News Talk 97.1, and KWMU St. Louis Public Radio for coverage as well. I honestly can’t thank our local media enough for this coverage. It not only promotes the St. Louis craft beer scene, but also helps the local businesses that put this all on. Links for everything put online will be linked at the end of this post.
Thank you to all of the distributors for helping to put all of these events on. Distributors aren’t sometimes the most loved aspect of the three-tier system, but this week couldn’t happen without their help and commitment to STLCBW. Thank you to Grey Eagle, International Beers Unlimited, Lohr, Major Brands, Missouri Beverage, Shelton Brothers Missouri, and Summit for helping keep this going for six years.
I want to thank all of the restaurants, bars, and retailers for helping stay committed to STLCBW for six years. There is a lot of money spent to make these events happen and each of the places that put on an event have to be thanked for having the faith in STLCBW to make that investment. Specials thanks to International Tap House, Three Kings, Llywelyn’s, Flying Saucer, and Everything Wine for putting multi-night events and keeping everyone happy.
Special thanks to Emily Wymore and Dave Bailey for not only providing amazing events during the entire week, but also bookending the week with two fantastic festival. I can’t begin to express my gratitude for them not only believing in STLCBW, but putting forth a serious financial commitment to this week. Be certain to visit Perennial Artisan Ales as well as Bailey’s Chocolate Bar, Bailey’s Range, The Bridge, Small Batch, and Rooster and thank them.
We wouldn’t have as vibrant of a craft beer scene without all of the local breweries that currently call St. Louis home. So, a thank you to the St. Louis Brewers Guild for helping support STLCBW and a special thank you to Schlafly, 4 Hands, Ferguson, Urban Chestnut, Morgan Street, Perennial, Exit 6, and Six Row for putting on events at their locations.
And finally, none of this could have happened without you. The St. Louis beer scene has such an insanely awesome passions for craft beer. We see how much we’ve grown and things have changed since STLCBW was started six years ago. Thank you all for every bit of your time, money, and energy you’ve put into making this week so much fun.
I’m sure I missed something or someone, but please know that I can’t express my gratitude enough. Thank you all for making this week so much fun and so much of a success. I look forward to spending nine days of fun with you from July 25th-August 2nd in 2015.
