acbw_badge2Chances are if you visit this blog you know that May 13-19 is American Craft Beer Week.  If you did not know this, don’t feel bad, Six Row Brewing Company and Square One Brewery have you covered. Here’s a look at the events happening at these two locations this week:

Square One:

Monday through Friday May 13-17 from 5-7 pm Dr. John Witte will be the guest bartender at Square One Brewery and Distillery.

Enjoy a few pints (try our Maibock, Saison or Our GAL or any of your year round favorites) and pick the brewers brain. Wish John a happy brewers birthday (April 27 was 19 years professionally brewing in St. Louis) and you will get $1.00 off your purchase of any logo glassware.

Saturday May 18 Square One will host its monthly beer and spirits school-with a twist. This month will feature a beer and cheese tasting, hosted by Dr. Witte, along with the usual history lesson and brewery tour. Class is limited to the first 25 who call the restaurant to register and begins at 11 am. A handful of spots are still available.

Six Row Brewing:

All week long we’ll be pouring Llewellyn’s Pretender to the Throne Hoppy Wheat, a beer brewed just for the Llewellyn’s Pubs and available exclusively at their six St. Louis area locations and, for a limited time only, at Six Row’s pub.

Monday, May 13: Killer Whale Returns! After a half-year hibernation, our big, beautiful barleywine resurfaces once again. On tap when we open at 4PM, on the 13th.

Tuesday, May 14: Amarillo dry-hopped cask of Red Eye. Our session Red IPA, cask conditioned with Amarillo hops, available from open to close at a special price of $4/pint.

Wednesday, May 15: Belgians are back! Ambree (our Belgian Single) and our 3rd Anniversary Tripel will be on tap from open to close.

Thursday, May 16: Baumann’s Bacon Porter cask, tapping at 4PM. Don’t miss this rare and popular delicacy. Our regular draft Porter will be back on tap, after a brief hiatus, at the pub as well.

Friday, May 17: TGIPA! All IPAs are $4, including our DIPA, Red Eye and selections from our single dry-hop DIPA series including Simcoe, Mosaic, Warrior, and several others, rotating on tap throughout the day, from open until close.

Saturday, May 18: Stout Saturday! We’ll be serving our Export Stout, Russian Imperial Stout and Oak-aged Sour Export Stout (aged over a year in oak barrels). All Stouts are $4/glass or try all 3 in a specially priced Stout Sampler, from open to close.
