Though we’ve certainly had a few days that have felt like summer, spring weather has returned. In my not so humble opinion, spring and fall are the apex of beer drinking.

How else do the fine folks are Bridge celebrate this wonderful time of beer drinking? They throw a beer dinner.

Next Tuesday, May 15th, Bridge will be hosting their Spring Beer Dinner featuring five courses paired with “gypsy” beers. There will be two seatings for this dinner, 6:00PM and 8:30PM, and it will cost you $50 per person (not including tax and gratuity.) Reservations can be made by calling 314-241-8141 or emailing bridgetaphouse@gmail.com.

Here’s a look at the menu:

First Course
Cheese course served with mostarda and crostini
PAIRED WITH: St. Feuillien/Green Flash Biere L’Amitie

Second Course
Spring spinach salad with cherries, tossed in Blond reduction vinaigrette
PAIRED WITH: Moinette Blond

Third Course
Seared sea scallops with lemon and tarragon beurre blanc
PAIRED WITH: Stillwater/Mikkeller Two Gypsies/Our Side

Fourth Course
Pork tenderloin roullade stuffed with caramelized apples and onions
PAIRED WITH: Brouwerij de Musketiers Troubadour Magma

Fifth Course
Dark chocolate sorbet and honey-almond tuiles
PAIRED WITH: Evil Twin Brewing Imperial Biscotti

On Wednesday May 16 at 7:00 PM, Three Kings Public House located at 6307 Delmar Boulevard, will be hosting a Schlafly Beer Dinner.  The dinner will feature 5 courses each paired with a different Schlafly beer.

The meal is $40 per person (not including tax and gratuity) and reservations are recommended.  You can call Three Kings at 314-721-3355 to reserve a seat for the event.

The menu looks like this:

1st course:
Picked Shrimp, fried oyster, stuffed caprese tomato and jalapeno popper
Beer pairing :  Helles Summer Lager

2nd course:
Summer Seafood Bouillabaisse
Beer pairing:  Yakima Wheat Ale

3rd course:
Fried Lasagna
Beer pairing:  Dry Hopped APA

4th course:
BBQ’d Pork Loin with Smoked Potato Salad
Beer pairing:  Export IPA

5th course:
Chocolate Raspberry Pudding Cake with Raspberry Serrano Sorbet
Beer pairing:  Strawberry Hefeweizen
