All the I’s have been dotted and all of the ink is now dry; 2nd Shift Brewing Company is now ready to distribute.  To celebrate the newest brewery coming into St. Louis, 33 Wine Shop and Tasting Bar will be hosting a launch party this Saturday, November 13th starting at 11AM.  Here’s the details direct from 33 Wine’s Jeff Stetner:

It’s a good time to be a St. Louis beer drinker with all the new breweries coming online over the next 12 months. This will hopefully be the first of many new beer tasting opportunities in the near future. On November 13, 33 Wine shop and Tasting Bar in Lafayette Square will open it’s doors early in the day (11:00 am) to allow the STL Hops community a chance to try 4-5 of Second Shift’s first trench of beers. There will be a 1/6 of each beer and they will be poured until the beer runs out. Beers include:
  • Art of Nuerosis IPA (6.2%)
  • Cat Spit Stout (4.2%)
  • Weiss and Virtue Weissbeer (4%)
  • Sort of Belgian Brown (6%)
  • Little Big Hop Session (3.5-4%) – (HOPEFULLY)

I’ve also been told that all of the beer available to enjoy will be a meager $4.00 per 12oz pour. So, not only do you get to try beer from the area’s newest brewery, but it’s light on the pocket as well. Hope to see everyone there on Saturday!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled beer news to bring you some cider news. biglogo.JPG Mark from Bigelo’s Bistro is putting on his first cider dinner. Mark will be bringing in Derek Bean and Crispin Ciders for a dinner pairing five different ciders with five different courses.

The dinner will be taking place this Sunday, November 14th at 4PM. Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, will be $35 each or $65 per couple, not including gratuity. You can make reservations by calling 618-655-1471. Here’s a look at the dinner:
