Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past four years, you know that the 4th annual St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival is coming up in June. This festival was started to not only honor the history of brewing in St. Louis but to also showcase the talent of the area’s brewers.

This year’s festival will be featuring three different sessions will take place on June 11th and 12th. If the 20,000 people this festival attracts each year wasn’t impressive enough, I think addition of several new local breweries will make 2010 the best festival yet.

  • The grounds open on Friday, June 11th for a session that runs from 7 – 11 p.m. and again Saturday, June 12, from 1 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 11 p.m. Tickets for the Friday evening session and Saturday events cost $30 per person ($35 day of the events, so get your tickets now).
  • Restaurants participating in this year’s Festival are all from the St. Louis Originals group. Companion Bakery, Harvest, LoRusso’s Cucina, SqWires and Vin de Set have all created dishes designed to compliment the more than 70 beer styles available at the event.
  • Not only will you be able to taste beer from 14 local breweries, but this year you’ll also have the chance to sample beers from a number of area homebrewers.
  • This year’s Heritage Festival Beer recipe is David Roesch and Joe Orsa’s Bavarian Hefeweisen.  If you’re not familiar, this recipe will be brewed by a number of local breweries to be served at the festival.

Last year’s festival provided for some amazing weather and some amazing beer.  If you haven’t taken part in the Heritage Festival, I fully recommend it.  I’ve had some great times at the Saturday afternoon session, and I’m sure this year will be just as much fun.
